Services and Pricing
Website design prices generally vary depending on the complexity and detail that your site requires.
For the initial design concept I charge a one time fee of £300 depending on the complexity of the site which includes the design, layout and first page of your site. After the first page has been completed (which may be all that some people require), we can start work on your site immediately. I work on an hourly rate of £15 an hour rather than charging you per page created.
As well as designing websites I can also help you to create or redesign your company logo or other artwork including your letterheads and other stationary, so that your artwork and website can be fully integrated into your business.
If you need to sell your stock online or put all your stock on show, e-commerce buy online services are now available. Fees may vary depending on complexity of design needed. The software needed to produce an e-commerce site is £300 excluding VAT and must be purchased for each individual e-commerce site design.
W3C Compliance
What Is W3C Compliance?
The W3C is the World Wide Web Consortium and since 1994 the W3C has provided the guidelines by which websites and web pages should be structured and created. The rules they outline are based on the best practices and while websites don't have to comply to be viewed correctly in web browsers (e.g. Internet Explorers) , there are a number of compelling reasons as to why you should ensure that the W3C guidelines are followed and that your site is brought into compliance.
- Compliance helps ensure accessibility for visually impaired.
- Compliance helps ensure that your website is accessible from a number of devices; from different browsers to the growing number of surfers using PDAs and mobile phones.
- Compliance will also help ensure that regardless of the browser, resolution, device, etc. that your website will look and function in the same or at least a very similar fashion.
Websites are made up of detailed coding which to the general public is computer jargon and it is this coding that is read by Google and your internet browser, it does not take into account the actual text content. Proper use of standards and best practices makes sure that search engines can interpret whilst forcing all of the information in the page to be made accessible, thus favouring the content instead of code.
This will also allow for a quick loading speed for your website instead of waiting for images to appear it will be a virtually instantaneous process.
